BRN number in Dubai: what it is and where to find it
A BRN is a broker's registration number in Dubai: the number on the broker card that the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) issues to each licensed real estate broker. You find it printed on the agent's card, and you can look it up in the Dubai Land Department's public list of licensed brokers, where it appears as "Broker Number".

What does BRN stand for?
BRN is short for broker registration number. RERA's own conditions for brokerage offices say the "office registration number and broker registration number" must appear on every real estate advertisement (RERA conditions, Trakheesi). The office number is the ORN; the broker number is the BRN.
The BRN belongs to one person. The card it sits on is what DLD calls a real estate professional practice card, and DLD says nobody may practise a licensed activity until they have registered and obtained that card (DLD, card issue).
Where do you find a BRN?
- On the broker card. The number is printed on the agent's RERA card.
- In DLD's licensed brokers list. Open the Licensed Real Estate Brokers list and search the agent's name. Each result shows the broker's name, their office and their "Broker Number". You can filter by area, project, office, or sale, lease and mortgage brokers.
- In the Dubai REST app. DLD lists the Dubai REST app as the second channel for the same broker list (DLD, Licensed Real Estate Brokers).
To confirm a specific card is genuine, use DLD's e-card check. The steps are on how to check a broker card's status.
How does a broker get a BRN?
The BRN comes with the broker card, which is applied for in Trakheesi, DLD's licensing system. DLD lists these steps (DLD, card issue):
- Create a Trakheesi account or log in, and choose the service.
- Enter the details, upload the documents and submit.
- The application is reviewed and approval is issued through the system.
- Pay online by credit card, e-Dirham or Noqodi.
- Print the card from the system.
DLD's conditions: a good conduct certificate from Dubai Police and a pass in the annual broker exam. DLD exempts people over 55, brokers with five consecutive years in the same office, and start-up licence holders from the exam.

DLD also notes that the card's validity is linked to the validity of the brokerage's trade licence. Renewal steps are on broker card renewal in Dubai.
